actor turned politician eventually came out to say that that was not what he
meant even though a video that confirmed the statement went viral
In an interview with Arise Tv, Desmond
Elliott said that he did not say that Nigerians should not protest, and he also
did not say anything about regulation because social media helped him during
elections
He said:
I am pro EndSARS, and completely with the youths. I came into politics because this country needed change, but because of what had happened and the video I watched, I just thought maybe we should cut down and restrategise after the protest. I also thought that we needed to share love, for the memories of those that had passed. I did not say that they should not protest,I said the narrative of the hatred. I blame it on emotions.
"I didn't say Nigerian's shouldn't protest." - Desmond Elliot responds to THAT viral video of him pushing for social media regulation.
