Little Hero - boy who saved sister from dog attack becomes heavyweight champion title holder
Bridger Walker, a six-year-old boy in the United States who sustained injuries while saving his baby sister from a vicious dog attack, has been recognised by the World Boxing Council (WBC) as a world heavyweight champion for a day.
The incident had made several international headlines months back, after the little boy displayed bravery by grabbing his sister’s hand and running with her to ensure her safety.
Speaking on his action after putting his life on the line for his little sister, Walker said: “If someone was going to die, it must be me, I’m the older brother.”
However, almost a year after the event, the boy has been honoured with a WBC title.
Sharing the inspiring story on her LinkedIn page, Ebony James wrote: “It will remain in the official historical record of the WBC. For that one day, he was the best fighter in the world.”
