God fearing hoodlums return looted items after threat of house demolition by Adamawa governor
Some hoodlums in Adamawa have begun returning items that were looted in the state few days ago.
The looters decision to return items was in response to the 12-hour ultimatum given by the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who made a broadcast Tuesday evening, asking looters to return any looted goods or risk the houses containing such items being demolished.
His statement reads in part; “I am giving a 12 hour ultimatum (6:00 pm – 6:00 am) to the hoodlums to return whatever they looted from public and private warehouses and homes to the nearest Police Station and traditional rulers’ houses (from the ward to the district level), whichever is nearest to them.
“This ultimatum will expire at 6:00 am on Wednesday, 28th – October, 2020, after which I will sign an Executive Order for a house-to-house search to commence by 7:00 am of the same day.”
However, in a recent statement by Miracle Musa, an aide to the governor, a number of residents in Yola and Jimeta have started returning the stolen items to their ward heads while some dropped them on the roads for the authorities to pick.
